Welcome to The Second City 7 Day Shorts Challenge!

Beginning every Monday night, as part of Improv Mondays at Planet Ant, a suggestion will be announced. Filmmakers will then have seven days to make a short film based on or inspired by that suggestion.  Completed films will be screened weekly as part of the Monday night improv show. The standouts will be posted to The Second City’s 7 Day Shorts YouTube page at http://www.youtube.com/7dayshorts.

As a participant, you will be joining other filmmakers from the Second City community including Chicago, Toronto and Hollywood. C’mon, Detroit! Let’s show them what we’ve got!

Interested? Great! The rules are simple:

Your video MUST be shorter than two minutes in length.

Your video MUST contain no copy written music or images.

Bring a disc with your movie burned as a video DVD (not a data DVD) on the Monday night it is to be show. Please plan to arrive no later than shortly before 8PM.

We are currently working on other, more convienient methods for submitting your film and will be adding them here once we have them. Please check in here occasionally!

If filmmakers want to be eligible to have their video featured on The Second City website and YouTube page, they MUST fill out 3 forms.

1.       The filmmaker must fill out and sign the contract.

2.       The filmmaker must have every actor fill out a release form.

3.       The filmmaker must have every location fill out a location release form.
