What motivated you to start improvising?
I was looking for a clan of like-minded individuals who interpreted the world in creative ways.
How did you get involved at Planet Ant?
Like everyone else, I started coming to Monday Nights and seeing shows. The Ant has always been electric, exciting, and welcoming. It was just too hard to stay away.
What shows have you performed in?
Deceptions to the Rule and Oh Holy Shit!: A Christmas Story
What are some of your favorite shows you've been in and why?
Wasn't in it, but I directed a remount of Before and Laughter and it was my favorite experience at the Ant. Stellar cast of dear friends, Tommy Leroy's beautiful set (with real Emmy Awards!), and Guitar Hero parties on the big screen in the theater after Saturday performances. Good times. Thanks Pj, Katie, Adam, Molly, Bryan, Anne and Elana!
A fun, memorable moment from a Monday Night:
The night I discovered pickles were cucumbers (while on stage) sticks out. Thanks, audience!
What do you do outside of the theatre?
I teach Ancient History and World Religions. Super funny stuff!
Who are some of your comedy heroes?
I don't need too look far. Shawn Handlon, Margaret Edwartowski and Nancy Hayden.
What's one piece of advice you'd give to someone interested in starting improv?Audiences like authenticity. If you're not being true to you, they'll know.
Anything else you'd like to add?
Once a home team member, always a home team member.
