The Planet Ant Workshop Series presents...

"(Try) Stand Up (Comedy) for Yourself, in High School" with Lauren Uchalik!

FREE for High School Students!

Presented in partnership with Motor City Comedy Festival:

We know you have jokes and we want to help you tell them in front of a crowd!

Students will spend the first hour of the workshop having 3 minutes each to tell some jokes then we will give feedback and work on some important writing skills to develop their individual voices. This is a great opportunity to work on being comfortable speaking in public and being an engaging entertainer! All instructors are working stand-up comedians with several years of touring, performing and writing experience who want to help bring a voice to young people!

Limited class size means lots of individual feedback and personal instruction — it also means you should sign up before space runs out ; )

Workshop participants will have the option of participating in a comedy showcase featuring high school students at Ant Hall in the future!

Lauren Uchalik is the president of the Motor City Comedy Festival and a former intern at Planet Ant. She has a BA in Theater Arts from the University of Michigan as well as several years of teaching experience. She has been performing comedy across the country for the better part of 7 years and wants to help high school students to see how exciting it is to have this opportunity for self-expression and story-telling!
