Scenework Workshop

This workshop will focus on two-person scenes — the most important building block of all long-form improv.  We will work on playing real, believable characters and making emotion-based choices.  By listening to what your scene partner is giving you and what your gut is telling you, the words and the scene choices will flow more organically. With this focus we can get out of our heads and perform simpler, more satisfying scene work.

Paul Brittain is an actor, writer, comedian living in Los Angeles. He got his start doing long-form improv and sketch comedy in Chicago at the iO Theater and the Annoyance Theater. Paul was a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 2010 - 2012 where he performed such characters as "Sex" Ed Vincent, Goran "Funky Boy" Bogdan, and Lord Cecil Wyndemere and celebrity impressions including James Franco and Johnny Depp. Other tv credits include Trophy Wife, Hello Ladies, Kroll Show, Comedy Bang Bang, and Shrink. He has also appeared in the films Grown Ups 2, Hotel Transylvania, Hotel Transylvania 2, and Killing Gunther. Paul's podcast "Mr. Write" can be heard on Howl.Fm and Stitcher Premium.
